It’s about heart.
It’s raw and real and comes from the deepest part of who we are.
It’s not about accomplishment or victory.
Courage is a way of being. A choice. Standing in the awesome (as in inspiring awe or fear) truth of who we are… and revealing it.
Courage comes from LOVE.
The origins of the word reference the heart. Middle English uses defer to the heart as the seat of feeling. The Latin root cor means heart.
We define courage in the modern dictionary as doing something that frightens us, or as strength in the face of pain or grief.
I believe the definition of courage is more rooted in the heart than we realize.
We define this heart-based term in relation to fear. Understandable. But the deeper meaning is that courage comes from our heart, the place of love and emotion. It’s not about force or will. Courage is about a far more vulnerable kind of being.
Think about the word. Think about acting from the heart. Living from the heart. And know that living from the heart is the most courageous act there is.
